I felt the seven up series were interesting and intriguing to watch, also to see where their lives started out at and how they carried them out. Watching the decisions that they made at a young age or even at an older age and to see how them decisions effected their lives further on into their lives. I do think most of the situations they were put in most likely we wont have to come across apart from divorce, death of family, money issues and illness. Times have changed a bit since then, us women are more independent today to make our own decisions & we now have a wider choice of career paths.
We can learn from the series by seeing how the situations can relate to our lives it may not be spot on same situation but we can still view their attitudes whether good or bad and apply it to our lives as a lesson. Jesus lived in a different time but still we can look to the characters in the bible and learn from their mistakes and achievements. The characters in the 7up series were not perfect or always picked the right choices but it was interesting watching their reflections on their decisions.
I am not sure whether i could relate to specifically to one of the characters they all had different morals, values and beliefs than me, apart from bruce who was also a christian and shared some interests the same like missionary work. I thought Bruce was very wise some of the things he said he knew what he was talking and i was filled with understanding of life especially compared to the other 7up characters i thought Bruce was the smartest. Some of the girls were keen on family as same with me someday but some i didnot really agree with how they went about it, for example Susan said marriage and children fitted together for her but i wasn't quite sure what she meant by this as if she married just for kids and left the love side of it out?
The character i least related to least was Nicholas because he was grown up very isolated from society but always had an intelligence but i admire that about him and that he pulled out his dreams in front of him and pursued them successfully. I did not relate to Neil alot either i felt that he separated himself from society a bit. He seemed like a great guy but i think in the while he was trying to find himself he lost his ways and bubbly personality. I was happy for him when he moved back to London and grew in more a community, you could already see how much it had affected him for the better. I learnt from him to go for my dreams and what i believe in because even you can make the unthinkable happen.
I learnt from the characters to choose my life partner wisely, all the characters who married in this series had been changes better or for worse depending on the person they married and the circumstances that they married.
It showed me to try my hardest in life and follow God in all i do because he know the plans for me and can prepare for everything that life may bring.
